Guru
Cia Romano is a nationally respected evangelist for user-centered
design for the Web. After two successful years of usability research
and national speaking engagements under ExponentMedia, Cia launched
Interface Guru™ in Fall 2001 with the goal of expanding her
Extreme UX methodology for user-centric design. Cia's goal is to
make usability a given in all new media design. She is a specialist
in usability, user assessment, interface design, and information
design; associate member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society
and SIGCHI (Special Interest Group for Computer/Human Interface),
Advisory Board member of the World Organization of Webmasters.
Dr. Theo Mandel and Interface Guru™ CEO and founder Cia Romano
presented a seminar entitled "Build print subscriber loyalty
with your Web site" to the ASME (American Society of Magazine
Editors) group in summer 2002. The workshop provided a look at readers'
expectations for a magazine's Web site and the impact of usability
and user experience on user loyalty, profitability, and market reach.
