Seminar Descriptions |
| Seven
Keys to Intranet Design and Usability
|
| Course Description
"This year, I estimate that the world economy
will lose roughly $100 billion because of bad
intranet usability." (Jakob Nielsen, April
2001)
Intranets are often neglected — everyone
pays more attention to Internet sites. However,
experience and usability research show that focusing
on key concepts can greatly improve intranets.
This tutorial offers practical guidance on the
basic and important issues in intranet usability
and interface design. Topics address seven critical
areas of intranet design.
Attendees taking this tutorial are encouraged
to submit intranet screenshots and design questions
prior to the conference. Student submissions will
be shown and discussed during the tutorial. Learn
from the experiences of your colleague! E-mail
screenshots and design questions to Theo
Mandel.
