Occupational health professionals must manage the complexities of medical surveillance. They have to record employee health data from workplace injuries and illnesses, clinic visits, immunizations, audiometric exams, flu clinics, wellness programs, and lab tests. And, it’s not enough to just collect the data: They must be able to report on it in multiple formats. OHS software is essential to a company.

Consistency & Standards is one of the heuristics of usability. However, let's say you have a method of adding a new allergy to a patient's chart that is highly unusable. If you are developing a new module for adding a problem to the patient's chart - should you make it consistent with the poor allergy module or should you attempt to improve it, which will make it more usable, at the cost of lower consistency.

I favor the latter. Ideally at some point in the future you would circle back to address the module with poor usability.

Hi, there is no doubt that healthcare it solutions like emr are changing the face of the healthcare industry, however, usability is a very important issues. The vendors has to ensure that the system is fully-functional and simple so that the ultimate benefits can be derived.

nice thoughts shared on topics "EMR Usability – Standardization vs Usability and Innovation"

instead of fixing the inconsistencies or fix the usability issues always prefer to have the customized EMR Software as per your medical needs...
